Canadian Company Onboarding Guide

How to Complete Registration in Pruuvn® (Including BIN / Tax ID Requirement)

Overview

This guide explains how Canadian businesses can successfully complete onboarding within the Pruuvn® platform.

For Canadian entities, the Business Number (BN) must be entered in the Tax ID field during registration. This ensures proper entity verification and compliance validation within the system.

What Is Required for Canadian Companies

Canadian companies must provide:

  1. Legal Business Name
  1. Registered Business Address
  1. Business Number (BN) – entered in the Tax ID field
  1. Contact Information
  1. Website (if applicable)
  1. Electronic Signature

Important Change: BIN / Business Number Requirement

What Changed?

The Tax ID field now requires Canadian companies to enter their Business Number (BN).

If your company is registered in Canada, you must:

  • Enter your 9-digit Business Number (BN)
  • Include the full BN (without spaces or special formatting unless otherwise instructed)

Example Format

123456789

Do not include:

  • “BN”
  • Spaces
  • Dashes
  • Program account extensions (e.g., RT0001) unless specifically requested

If your organization has multiple program accounts (GST/HST, Payroll, etc.), enter only the core 9-digit BN unless your onboarding instructions state otherwise.

Step-by-Step Onboarding Instructions

Step 1: Enter Business Information

Complete all required company information fields:

  • Company Name
  • Address
  • Email
  • Phone Number
  • Website (if applicable)

If your company does not have a website, select:

Step 2: Enter Tax ID (Canadian Companies Only)

In the field labeled:

BN/Tax ID *

Enter your:

9-digit Canadian Business Number (BN)

This is mandatory for Canadian entities.

Step 3: Customize Appearance (Optional)

You may configure:

These are optional but recommended for branding consistency.

Step 4: Electronic Signature

To complete the form:

  1. Type your full legal name in the Electronic Signature field
  1. Optionally draw your signature
  1. Click Accept Signature

This confirms that the information submitted is accurate and authorized.

Validation & Verification

Once submitted:

  • The Business Number (BN) will be used for entity verification.
  • Pruuvn® may validate your entity against official Canadian registries.
  • Any discrepancies may result in follow-up from the Pruuvn® team.

Common Errors to Avoid

❌ Entering a U.S. EIN instead of a Canadian BN

❌ Adding “RT0001” or other suffixes unless instructed

❌ Including spaces or special characters in the BN

❌ Leaving the Tax ID field blank
